about Senator Debbie Stabenow's Conflict of Interest Regarding the "Fairness

Support
Broadcaster Freedom Act (S. 34/H.R. 226):
A bill to prevent the Federal Communications Commission from repromulgating
the fairness doctrine.
The Broadcaster Freedom Act (S. 34), sponsored by Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC),
and introduced on January 6, 2009, would prohibit the Federal Communications
Commission from issuing any regulation or policy that would re-establish
the so-called "Fairness Doctrine," a one-time regulation that jeopardized
broadcasters' licenses if they broadcast programs that the government considered
to be one-sided. NRLC is opposed to any such government censorship of the
free-speech rights of broadcasters.

Turn Up Pressure for "Fairness" through Government Media
Regulation
http://www.lifesitenews.com/ldn/2009/feb/09022015.html
"... Buzz surrounding the "Fairness Doctrine" turned up a notch this month
after two senators and former President Bill Clinton voiced their support
for reinstating the doctrine, which calls for government regulation of political
viewpoints in the media. ... Twice, Congress has passed legislation restoring
the Fairness Doctrine, but Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush
vetoed the bills. ... Republican lawmakers introduced the Broadcaster Freedom
Act January 7 [2009] as a means of guarding against the reinstatement of
the doctrine. 'The First Amendment has allowed Americans to voice opinions,
thoughts and questions of their choosing without the fear of Government
reprisal,' said Sen. John Thune (R-SD), one of the bill's sponsors. 'This
guarantee is now threatened by some liberal ideologues who are frustrated
with the free flow of ideas on talk radio. I advise every American to be
hesitant when government officials offer to regulate the media in the name
of 'fairness.' ... Simply put, giving power to a few to impose 'fairness'
in the media is a recipe for an Orwellian disaster. ..."
Christian broadcasters
fear Fairness Doctrine return
http://www.bpnews.net/BPnews.asp?ID=29849
"... 'For a Christian station ... if you carry a preacher who's broadcasting
on the ills of homosexuality or same-sex marriage or abortion ... you'd have
to go out and find somebody with an opposing point of view and let them reach
the same size audience.' ... President Obama's staff said during the campaign
that he does not support bringing back the Fairness Doctrine. ... 'Let's
remind him of that.' ..."
Sen. Debbie
Stabenow Has Conflict Of Interest Over 'Fairness Doctrine'
http://www.traditionalvalues.org/modules.php?sid=3555
Background on the "Fairness Doctrine" as well as well as why Senator Stabenow
should remove herself immediately from any discussion of the so-called Fairness
Doctrine. "She isn't being 'transparent' about her husband's failed radio
ventures."
