Even after April 9, 2009,
it's still not
to late to make a difference on this issue.
Using the below letter or
the other sample
letters on this issue and
the other
resources related to it, please put a letter in your own words (or use
a sample letter as is), and mail it to your
federal House
representative and your
two federal
senators as well as
President Obama.
It's much better to send a form letter than not to send a letter at all.
And, let's
flood the White House comments line on this issue.
Also, be sure to send your comments to
the Department
of Health and Human Services. Again, even after April 9, 2009,
it's still not

Note: HHS will make available for public viewing all comments and the personal
information (e.g., name and address) included in them.

Dear Mr. President:
Subject: Please...
1) Do Not Rescind the Health Care Providers' Conscience Rule
2) Support the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act, ANDA (S. 96)
3) Oppose the Protecting Patients and Health Care Act (H.R. 570)
Thank you for inviting input from people as you consider rescinding the health
care providers' conscience rule, conscience protections for health care
providers.
Please support the conscience regulations put into effect by your predecessor.
These regulations are vital to the conscience rights of health care
professionals. To force a doctor, nurse, or any health care provider to violate
his or her personal or religious beliefs by aiding in abortion-related activities
would be a great blow to both freedom and morality in this country.
The conscience regulations also give health care professionals recourse to
the HHS Office of Civil Rights and a way to press charges in the event that
they experience discrimination. This is a key protection against discrimination
in the work place.
Protecting American health-care workers who know that abortion is killing
a human being and that birth control products often kill a preborn baby does
not limit patients' access to health care. On the contrary, it is abortion
that limits patients' access to health care. Because abortion is not health
care; it is not medicine. Abortion harms and kills.
Along with retaining the HHS health care providers' conscience rule, please
oppose the Protecting Patients and Health Care Act (H.R. 570), which would
eliminate the HHS rule, and support the Abortion Non-Discrimination Act,
ANDA (S. 96), which is in line with the HHS rule.
By protecting the rights of doctors, nurses, and other health care entities
to follow their consciences and to refuse to kill pre-born children by abortion
or to provide abortifacients, you would be reducing abortions, upholding
true justice, and saving many lives.
Thank you for your consideration of my position on this important issue.
I would appreciate a response to my letter.
Sincerely,
[Signature]
