Dear Senator Klobuchar:
Subject: Please Vote Against the Confirmation of Kathleen Sebelius to the
Department of Health
I'm very concerned about the nomination of Kathleen Sebelius to the Department
of Health and Human Services. Her extremist pro-abortion views are far outside
of the American mainstream.
Sebelius won the governorship with large donations from George Tiller Tiller,
who is currently on trial for allegedly doing illegal abortions. She has
ties to several other scandals involving abortionists. The governor has a
radical record supporting abortion. She vetoed every common sense bill to
regulate abortion -- including safety regulations on clinics to ensure that
women are not harmed.
Abortion is always the taking of the life of an innocent person and is always
wrong -- no exceptions. Someone who backs unlimited abortion would be a poor
choice to direct the future of health care. Please don't support the confirmation
of Kathleen Sebelius.

E-mail Your Two U.S. Senators to Vote Against the Confirmations of Kathleen
Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services
President Obama has nominated Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius to serve
as his Secretary of Health and Human Services. The President's appointment
of Sebelius suggests that he is abandoning his pledge to "find common ground"
on abortion. Governor Sebelius' positions on abortion have been anything
but common ground. Governor Sebelius has a long track record of extreme
pro-abortion stances. She vetoed a bill in Kansas that would have expanded
informed consent measures and protected women from coerced late-term abortions.
In April 2007, Sebelius honored notorious late-term abortionist George Tiller
and his staff in the Governor's Mansion. The state was not reimbursed for
the cost of this political event for over a year. According to records obtained
by the Associated Press (AP), photographs from the event show Sebelius pointing
with a smile toward Tiller, who is holding a Sebelius campaign t-shirt. Tiller
is currently charged with 19 counts of performing illegal late-term abortions,
and his trial begins this month. As Secretary of Health and Human Services,
Governor Sebelius would have a crucial role overseeing important regulations
such as those protecting the conscience rights of health care professionals.
The American people deserve a Secretary of Health and Human Services who
will protect the right of conscience for our doctors and nurses who choose
to opt out of abortion procedures for personal or religious reasons. Archbishop
Joseph F. Naumann of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kansas City has privately
and publicly asked Sebelius to refrain from taking Holy Communion due to
her pro-abortion actions.
