Dear Representative Ellison:
Subject: Please Oppose the Prevention First Act (S. 21/H.R. 463)
Please help defeat and vote against the Prevention First Act. Planned Parenthood
does not need any more taxpayer money. The words they use hide the evil that
they propose. Their teen website actually approves of teens using porn in
place of having intercourse. While, of course, teens should be chaste and
not have sex at all, those who get addicted to porn -- and there are many
who do -- suffer far worse problems than do those who carry a child to term
in an unplanned pregnancy. Indeed, a woman who carries a child to term can
thrive, because she's doing a good thing.
Funding Planned Parenthood -- rather than reducing abortions -- increases
them.
Abortion is wrong, because it kills an innocent person. It's not the answer
to anyone's problems. It only makes them worse. And there are many women
-- some that I know -- who attest to that. Our national abortion rate did
not begin to go down until after the government began funding abstinence-only
education programs. The Prevention First Act will only increase abortions
and the problems that go with them.
Thank you for your consideration of my position on this important issue.
I would appreciate a response to my letter.
Sincerely,
