How to Create a Shortcut to Windows Explorer
To create a shortcut to Windows Explorer, do the following:
-
Right-click on your desktop;

Go to New
-
In the Create Shortcut dialogue box, type in
C:\windows\explorer.exe
-
Click on the Next button
-
In the Select a Title for the Program dialogue box, in the Type
a name for this shortcut slot, type in Windows Explorer
-
Click on the Finish button
-
To change the icon to the classic Windows Explorer shortcut icon, do the
following:

Right-click on the new shortcut on the desktop;

In the pop-up menu that appears, click on Properties
-
In the Windows Explorer Properties dialogue box, Under the Shortcut
tab, click on the Change Icon button
-
In the Change Icon dialogue box, Click on the icon of the yellow folder
with the magnifying glass over it
-
Click on the OK button
-
In the Windows Explorer Properties dialogue box, under the
Shortcut tab, click on the Apply button
-
Click on the OK (or Close) button
