Replay Converter Burns DVDs
It's Free Through a Promotion

Replay Converter burns DVDs that play in your DVD player. It also burns audio CDs and Data CDs. You can get Replay Converter for free if you're willing to try a free trial of something else through TrialPay. The TrialPay promotions that I've tried have all been legitimate. Several -- but not all -- trials are completely free if you cancel during the cancellation period. I haven't found any other free DVD burner worth getting.

As a disc burner, Replay Converter isn't nearly as functional as Nero or Roxio/Sonic is. It's primarily a converter program that has the added feature of being able to burn a few kinds of discs. While I wouldn't recommend that anyone purchase Replay Converter for the sole purpose of burning discs, if you don't have anything else that burns audio CDs, data CDs, or video DVDs that you can play in a DVD player, Replay Converter is simple and very cool for free.

The following are a few burning limitations of Replay Converter:

  • You can't multisession;
  • You must use a blank CD or DVD;
  • You can't use rewritable (RW) discs;
  • You can't burn a data DVD;
  • You can't make a menu for DVD-Video; there are no video-clip buttons.

It's easy to burn discs in Replay Converter.

Replay Converter is made by Applian (Applian.com), who makes many nifty little applications.

To see a short video demonstration of how to burn DVDs with Replay Converter, go to the following page (if the video doesn't play in one browser, try another browser; otherwise, click on the Get Adobe Flash Player button; that's free):

To see the Replay Converter user guide, which includes instructions for burning DVDs, go to the following page:

Tip: if you have an audio or video file that you want to burn in Replay Converter, don't convert it before you burn it, because every time you do a conversion (in any program), there's a little bit of quality loss. Instead, do the conversion directly from your original file to DVD. For example, if you've downloaded a YouTube flash video that you want to burn, burn the FLV file directly to DVD in Replay Converter rather than converting the FLV file to another format first. Understand that YouTube flash videos are made for a small screen, so when you convert them to DVD (no matter what program you use), there's going to be some resolution loss if the DVD-player screen (i.e., TV screen)  is a lot larger.

To get Replay Converter for free through TrialPay, do the following:

  1. Go to http://www.applian.com/links.php
  2. Scroll down to where you see about six listings together for Replay Converter including one that says Replay Converter free (you'll see in that area the three different programs that Applian offers for free through TrialPay; namely Replay Converter, Replay Media Catcher, and Replay Music);
  3. Click on any of the listings for Replay Converter (they all go to the same page);
  4. At the next page, click on Get it Free with TrialPay;
  5. Register (it's simple);
  6. At the Choose Offer page, put a checkmark in the box Only show offers that credit instantly;
  7. Evaluate the offers (you can explore an offer quite a bit without committing);
  8. Sign up for one of the offers;
  9. Shortly after you sign up for an offer, you'll receive an e-mail with a download link and a registration key for Replay Converter.
