Use Anti-virus Software

Be sure to use good, updated anti-virus software such as McAfee, Norton, Trend, or AVG.

If you want free anti-virus software, AVG makes a good free version.

It's best to have only one anti-virus program running on your computer. But along with an anti-virus program, you can, if you want, run an active anti-spyware monitor such as Windows Defender's Real Time Protection (if your computer meets the system requirements to install Windows Defender -- Windows 2003 Server SP 1 or later, XP SP 2 or later, Vista). You can also use the malware-prevention utility SpywareBlaster along with anti-virus software (Windows All Versions).
